Food in Mirvish Village

Building Roots partnered with Westbank Corp to provide food at the fall festival in Mirvish Village. We had vendors from the neighbourhood and BIA lining Markham Street with delicious food, from Pad Thai to pretzels and roti.

Building Roots also hosted three events in Markham House:

  1. An open house featuring wonderful Zimbabwean meat and vegetarian pies from Evis, owner of

Mnandi Pies.

  1.  Future of Urban Agriculture Summit with a dynamic group of presenters; Toronto Urban Growers, Toronto Beekeepers Co-operative, Wastenot Worm Farms, Waterfarmers Aquaponics, Evergreen, Grow For Good Inc. Abokichi served onigiri and Le Dolci provided us with sweet treats.
  2. Bev Yap, owner of Kyopo Kitchen hosted an event where everyone made dumplings with her vegan kimchee. It was tons of fun.
