Thank you for your interest in becoming a board member with Building Roots!
We are proud to have a small and dedicated working board, and we are looking to add to that board with an additional one to two people who are passionate about supporting community-driven programs and services.
As a Board member with Building Roots, you will be working with a dynamic, engaged team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Through our programming, advocacy, and outreach, we partner with the community through a 360 degree community-based approach, centering around community voices, skills, and leadership.
At this time, we are particularly looking for folks with a background in Fundraising – Corporate and/or Fundraising – Individual as we work to build sustainable long-term funding for the Moss Park community’s needs.
As a board member, we’re looking for someone who can:
Prepare for, attend, and contribute skills and knowledge by participating actively in meetings to guide the strategic direction of the organization. Board meetings occur once every six weeks virtually.
An interest in volunteering for events at our market, community gardens, or community programs. We are looking for board members who want to be involved!
Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for Building Roots to advance its mission.
Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve Building Root’s mission.
Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing, and can influence public policy.
