Verlia Stephens, Afro-Caribbean Queer community activist, scholar, and practitioner. Her expertise is in gender-based violence, Intimate Partner Violence, transformative conflict resolution, Sexual assault, LGBTQIA issues, Black womanist approaches to practice, and Anti-Black Racism/Anti-Oppression She is currently a professor at George Brown College in the Assaulted Women and Children Advocate program and she is currently the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist at Sherbourne Health. She has chosen to live her life by supporting all her communities. Last but definitely not least, she is an avid lover of music and completing jigsaw puzzles!
